BASE Support Hut is a mentor scheme designed to provide support and guidance to performers on a one-to-one, personal level.
Curated by BASE Operations Manager Emily Noke, the scheme offers performers the unique opportunity to gain personalised industry advice on a range of topics, as well as access to our database of professionals in the industry.
WHO IS IT FOR?
BASE Support Hut is suitable for all performers - whether you are a graduate looking for some support after leaving college, a performer looking for advice on headshots, working with or without an agent or help with self-assessment tax returns - the topics covered are individually focused to ensure you get the most out of the scheme as possible.
"I wanted to create a scheme that could provide a support space for performers. There is often so much information readily available that it can be daunting knowing where to start or where to look for advice. I felt there was a need for a 'middle man' - someone to point you in the right direction and offer a helping hand for those industry specific topics.
I trained as a professional dancer at London Studio Centre. Upon graduating I worked for several years as a performer, before moving into the agency side of the industry where I worked my way up to Junior Agent. I am now Operations Manager at BASE Studios, which has fast become the UK's leading dance studios. I also have experience working in casting for both theatre and TV/film. Having a background in all these varied areas has allowed me to gain an understanding of both sides of the industry.
Most importantly I want to help performers - to be a friendly face that you feel comfortable and confident talking to, and allow you to decide your next steps to progress within the industry."

"I booked Emily in for an industry talk with my Level 3 Dance and Musical Theatre students. Emily was extremely informative and knowledgable about the process of agencies and Spotlight, help with showreels, giving tips and advise for auditions as well as answering general questions about the industry and different courses/universities. Emily is really approachable and clearly has a wide range of knowledge and experience having worked in all aspects of the industry. My students found the talk very useful, absorbing heaps of Emily’s up to date experience and passion in the ever changing industry. I highly recommend for performers needing any help to enhance and pursue their career. I will definitely be booking her again for future students."
